Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Davis Duncan, and uncle Thomas Lee Davis. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mt Carmel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 487, Jackson, NC 27845. She was also preceded in death by her husband William Lee Colson, and two sons, William Lee Colson, Jr. and Garland Thomas Colson. For more than thirty- four years, Mike Askew, of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services, has been dedicated to serving the families of the Roanoke Valley and South side of Virginia. Glenda was born to the late Chester Rudolph Askew Sr. and Martha Modlin Askew on June 2, 1941 in Beaufort County, NC. She was a loving mother who would do whatever it took to raise her sons; often working two jobs. A woman of many loves; she loved her family, her church, and her community for which she served as the Mayor of Pantego, NC for over 20 years. Our funeral firm is one of the oldest independent funeral firms in the county, and we appreciate the relationship we have had with the families of our respective communities.
